Villa Carmignac presents La Mer imaginaire an exhibition which celebrates the poetic power of the subaquatic world, and calls into question our relationship with other living beings. The artworks are displayed throughout the 2000m2 exhibition spaces that stand under a water ceiling. On the first floor, Catalan artist Miquel Barceló was given a carte blanche and turned the space into a submarine grotto. The Villa’s garden, designed by Louis Benech, also displays many sculptures and hosts a programme with concerts, cinema, workshops for children, yoga classes and sound walks.
